Think “November” and visions of roast turkey undoubtedly come to mind. Epic Races invites you to envision — and experience — a totally different take on that famous fall bird with the A2 Turkey Trot. Join us on Saturday, November 19 at Hudson Mills Metropark for this annual autumn tradition and enjoy a late-season run that is fun for the whole family!
The A2 Turkey Trot features three different distances to whet your racing appetite: a 5K loop around scenic Hudson Mills, a 10K course comprised of two 5K loops, and a mile fun run for those who want just a taste of our Turkey Trot.
For those who prefer a more sizable portion, there’s our Iron Turkey option: run both the 5K and 10K, a total of 9.3 miles! If your feet love gobbling up the miles, then our Iron Turkey challenge is ideal for you! Don’t forget: the A2 Turkey Trot is walker friendly!
All of our A2 Turkey Trot participants receive:
In addition, our Iron Turkey participants receive a special Iron Turkey giveaway, plus a special Iron Turkey finisher’s medal upon completing both the 5K and the 10K!
Please join us prior to the event start for yoga with Marie Brooks from Breathe Yoga and get your mind and body race ready!

Food Gatherers, the featured charity for the A2 Turkey Trot, exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community. They are committed to distributing safe, usable, nutritious, and appealing food to 150 non-profit agencies and programs providing direct food assistance in the form of hot meals, nutritious snacks, or emergency groceries to low-income adults, seniors, and children in Washtenaw County. Food Gatherers rescues food that would otherwise go to waste from more than 300 local sources including food retailers, restaurants, and food wholesalers. Food Gatherers regards the gifts of food and money that they receive as a sacred trust to be administered for the most effective hunger relief possible. As you register for the A2 Turkey Trot, please consider making a donation to Food Gatherers and be sure to bring a donation of non-perishable food or fresh produce to their collection area at the A2 Turkey Trot on race day, Saturday, November 19. All donations collected on Saturday at the A2 Turkey Trot will be distributed in time for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday.
… so why not share your A2 Turkey Trot accomplishment with your I Run 4 buddy? To help your buddy feel more special, we’ve created a race add-on so that your buddy can receive his or her own A2 Turkey Trot medal. We applaud those runners who dedicate their miles to buddies with special needs whose conditions span the spectrum from total physical disability to developmental delays to autism spectrum disorders and more. Look for the IR4 add-on when you register, or log into Run Sign Up to manage your registration and add the IR4 add-on.
