We’re thrilled that you’ll be joining us for the Ugly Dog Tri. Read on for all the important information you’ll need to help you get ready for the big day. Please check back here frequently for updates, and if you plan to print this guide, please wait until the day before the race as some information may change.

Packet pickup is at Ugly Dog Distillery (218 S Main Street, Chelsea, Michigan) Friday, September 6 from 4 p.m.– 6 p.m.

We strongly encourage you to pick up your packet the day before the race to make your race day go smoothly.

If you cannot make it to packet pickup the day before, please attend packet pickup at the race site on race morning from from 7 a.m.– 8:15 a.m.

You have questions?  We have answers!

With this non-traditional race, we expect many of you are wondering at least something about this race and knolwedge is power! Power is something we want you to have so please join us at our video conference on Thursday, September 5 at 6:00 p.m.   Simple type join.me/epicraces in your browser bar and we’ll be there as well as many of your fellow participants. You will be able to see us and you’ll have the option for us to see you.  Everybody will be muted and you will ask questions via the chat window. Hope to see you there! Join me!

Please be sure you have a current Recreation Passport.  Vehicles without Recreation Passports will be issued notices to pay the fee.  For details and pricing for both in state and out of state Recreation Passports CLICK HERE.

There will be two aid stations: One exiting transition and one just beyond mile 1 at the trailhead.

There are showers at the campsite that participants may use.

7 a.m. - 8:15 A.M. PACKET PICK-UP AND RACE-DAY REGISTRATION

8:20 A.M. MANDATORY MEETING ON THE BEACH

8:30 A.M. ALL RACES START

10:00 A.M. POST-RACE PARTY BEGINS

6 P.M. AWARD CEREMONY AT UGLY DOG DISTILLERY

If you win an award and cannot make the ceremony, you can pick up your award at another time at Ugly Dog Distillery.

You will be given both a bib and an ankle strap.  Please wear your bib on your back during the bike and on your front during the run.  The best way to do this is with a race belt.

It’s important for your bib number to be visible so we can easily tag and you can find your free photos!

Also, please note the QR code on the front of your bib.  You can scan this to find your results moments after you cross the finish line!

14-15, 16-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

29-Mile and 10-Mile Gravel Sprint Tri:
1st Place Overall Male/Female
1st Place Masters Male/Female
Top 5 in each age-group Male/Female

Aquabike, Duathlon, Pretty Dog:
1st Place Overall Male/Female
1st Place Masters Male/Female
Top 3 in each age-group Male/Female

Relay Awards

Wondering if you won an award?

You can check several ways:

First, note the age groups and award categories on the event website.
Check the QR code on your bib with a QR scanner on your phone (if you don’t have one, you can download the app).
Visit the results table which will set up by the awards table.
Check the “results” tab on the event website.

Awards will be presented at the Ugly Dog Distillery at 6 p.m. after the race. If you cannot make the ceremony and you win an award, you may pick it up at the distillery at a later date.
