Going Natural Has Never Felt This Good!

A portion of this event’s proceeds benefit our featured charity, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Epic Races invites you to the third annual HeartMiRun Virtual 5K. Benefiting Michigan State Parks, the HeartMIRun takes you off the sidewalks and roadways of the cities and suburbs and into our stunning state parklands and preserves. Discover shady trails winding through woods and forests. Venture onto sunny pathways that border sparkling lakes. Enjoy the simple serenity of running or walking in a setting that makes you feel at one with the earth and at peace with the planet.

  • Register for this event at RunSignUp; deadline to register is November 1, 2017!
  • Locate a park, forest, trail, or any public land managed by the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources

  • Tell us about your HeartMIRun! Head to the 2017 HeartMIRun Virtual 5K Facebook event page, “join” the event if you haven’t already, then upload a photo of your GPS tracker showing your mileage and time, share a selfie of you with the sign of the state park where you ran or walked, or post a comment about your run or walk and tag the park. You can also post your photos on Instagram and tag us (@epicraces) or tweet about it on Twitter and tag us (@epicraces). There is no need to report your run to us! Letting us know about your HeartMIRun via social media is preferred, but not mandatory!
  • All swag will be sent out on November 16, 2017!

Your facebook page link is not working. :/

    • ana September 2, 2015 at 4:35 PM #

Camilla, can you try clearing your cache? We used to have a HeartMIRun page on Facebook, but we changed to a Facebook Event Page off of our Epic Races Facebook page about a month ago. The links are working; please give it a try again!

I want to register for the HeartMIRUN virtual 5k, but I don’t have Facebook to upload or post my results or photo, etc. Can I still do a run and still get the medal and Tshirts ?

    • ana September 2, 2015 at 4:29 PM #

Jean, you are more than welcome to post your photos and results on Instagram and tag @epicraces, or post them on Twitter and tag us there, too!

Sorry don’t have those accounts either. I did register though and did my 5K race on Labor Day. Ran in the northern most State Park in Michigan, Fort Wilkins State Park, Copper Harbor. Great running along Lake Fanny Hooe, Copper Harbor Lighthouse overlook and though the historic grounds of the Fort itself.

I was wondering if my husband and I sign up today could we still get the sticker? Also, do you have a course in Ludington State Park?

    • Eva October 5, 2015 at 2:39 PM #

      Hi Monica,
We still have a few stickers left and will be including those for those who sign up until we run out. Ludington State Park has not given us a course, but we encourage you to create a course and share it with others! It is possible that if you contact the park they will be able to share a course with you. Please let me know if I can help with anything else!

Is this an actual current upcoming event? A friend shared the link to this page, but I can’t find any info on this event on any page linked to this one.

    • ana September 2, 2016 at 12:14 AM #

We have not finalized the event for this year; that is why this page is not publicly visible. Once details are set we will link this page to our website.

I just signed up today; website said registration was going on until November 1. Completion date being December 15. I’ve seen conflicting info saying it needs completed by December 5. Please confirm completion date.
    Thanks, Bev

    • ana October 31, 2016 at 6:38 AM #

Hi Barb! We extended the completion deadline through December 15. If you could please tell us where it still says December 5, we’d appreciate it. Thanks!

I’m confused about the women’s T’s hurt sizes. A XL is size 6-8? That seems really small for a xl. Can you clarify? Also are the regular tshirts sizes like men’s sizes?

    • ana October 31, 2016 at 9:58 PM #

      Hello, Kay!

Women’s Fitted shirts are very fitted! They fit quite snugly, regardless of shirt manufacturer. This is why we also post the numerical sizes: so our participants can better determine which Women’s Fitted size suits them best. For example, if you wear a traditional-cut small, you would take a Women’s Fitted L. The traditional-cut shirts are your standard men’s and women’s T-shirt style.
