Show your support for the men and women who battle the fires that threaten America’s wilderness areas by participating in the Holding the Line 5K Run/Walk! These highly trained individuals continually put their lives on the line protecting forests, prairies, grasslands, and other natural lands, facing life-threatening challenges far from family, hearth, and home. Challenge yourself by running, jogging, or walking the Holding the Line 5K in solidarity with our country’s wildland firefighters!
This virtual event is open to participants of any age and ability, located anywhere in the United States. All you need are a sturdy pair of running shoes and the desire to take part in an Epic adventure!
Follow these steps to become a Holding the Line 5K participant:
Note: You do not need to report your 5K Run/Walk to us. We encourage you to post about your Holding the Line 5K via our social media, but it is not mandatory!
All Holding the Line 5K swag will be mailed out by July 31st!
Every participant will receive a custom finisher’s medal created especially for this event, along with a Holding the Line T-shirt. Wear your Holding the Line 5K shirt all year round to show your support for the Wildland Firefighter Foundation and the Spouses and Partners of Wildland Firefighters community!

The main focus of the Wildland Firefighter Foundation is to help families of firefighters killed in the line of duty and to assist firefighters and their families. The Wildland Firefighter Foundation honors and acknowledges past, present, and future members of the wildland firefighting community and partners with private and interagency organization to bring recognition to wildland firefighters. Spouses and Partners of Wildland Firefighters is an online community dedicated to supporting wives and serious girlfriends of current wildland firefighters. Since their beginning in 2012, they have worked closely with the Wildland Firefighter Foundation to raise funds to support their mission. The Holding the Line 5K Run/Walk is hosted by the Spouses and Partners of Wildland Firefighters community. All event proceeds will go to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.
