Event Details

Want to guarantee you have all your SWAG by July 4th?! Fill out this form by noon on June 28th and you can pick-up your race packet at Epic Races HQ from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd! Rather receive your swag by mail? No problem. We’ll send it out on June 29th. Note: Due to delays with USPS we cannot guarantee your package will arrive before July 4.

What is a Virtual Race?!: No, it’s not Virtual Reality, but we promise you’ll have a ton of fun! Pick any day between July 4 – July 31st and complete your run. Use the Firecracker 5K, 1-Mile or 200M Dash official course or compete in your own back yard. There will be no crowds. No long port-a-potty lines. There is no start gun or nervous, pre-race chitchat with other participants. There is not even a starting line! Choose your date, time, place, and competition, and go! Click here to register. Virtual reality figures and racers clad in 4th of July outfits

What about the hotdog eating contest?! Here at Epic Races, we make sure our virtual races are as lively as possible and we know that for many our hotdog eating contest is the #1 event you’ve been training for! Ray’s Red Hots will still be supplying you with hotdogs and a special voucher for race participants to use after the event. More details to come soon, but we will be holding our hotdog eating contest LIVE on Zoom on July 4th!

Routes and Race Tracking: You aren’t running alone, you’re RacingAloneTogether! The course of all run distances will be uploaded to RaceJoy so you can compete against one another on our exact racecourse. RaceJoy gives you turn by turn directions and will cheer you on along your journey to solo-racing triumph! For more information about getting set-up on RaceJoy and posting your results see our virtual race instruction page.

Don’t want to race our course in downtown Ann Arbor? No problem. Whether you race at the corner of 4th and Liberty or elsewhere we want to know how your race went and celebrate your accomplishments. Share your costumes, routes, and post-race eats with us on our Facebook page!

Swag and Awards: A virtual race with some serious swag! All racers will receive a super soft shirt, a finisher’s medal, and a buff.

A virtual race with real race results and winners! Run your race on our official course and get timed from afar via RaceJoy or upload your results from a different course. We will hold an awards ceremony on Zoom on August 3rd at 5 PM to celebrate our overall and age group winners.

Can’t be in Ann Arbor for the race? Interested in awards not based on your finish time? We’ve still got awards for you! Learn more about Epic Swag Rewards which gets you one of a kind Epic gear for racing, posting of social media, and staying active with us in other ways.

You will receive all of your swag in the mail at the address you used to register for the race. The US Postal Service has been impacted by COVID-19 so shipping times may be delayed. We will get your items to you as quickly as possible.

Charity: Our 2020 featured charity is The University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center!
