Epic Races Frosty Freestyle and Krazy Klassic

Kick off your New Year with the Frosty Freestyle and Krazy Klassic Ski Fest Weekend! Brought to you by Epic Races in partnership with Huron Meadows Metropark and NordicSkiRacer.com, this weekend of cross-country races allows you enjoy the natural beauty of Huron Meadows while skiing through the scenic parklands towards the finish line. With guaranteed snow — Huron Meadows makes snow for cross-country enthusiasts — and distances ideal for both first-time ski racers and experienced Nordic ski competitors, the Frosty Ski Fest is a fabulous way to bring wonder to your winter!

Michigan Cup Series

The Frosty Ski Fest races are part of the Michigan Cup Series of cross-country races. The Frosty Freestyle 15K and the Krazy Klassic 12K are designated as Senior Freestyle Races: senior racers ages 20 and up will receive Michigan Cup Freestyle Points for completing these events. The Frosty Freestyle 5K and Krazy Klassic 8K distances are classified as Michigan Cup Series Junior Points Races. Junior racers ages 19 and under will receive Michigan Cup freestyle points for completing these races. The Frosty Freestyle 5K and Krazy Klassic 8K are also Michigan Cup Series Fun Races. All senior racers ages 20 and up will receive 10 points for participating in these races.

The Michigan Senior Olympics

The Krazy Klassic ski races (Sunday only) are part of the Michigan Senior Olympics! Participants ages 50 and up will be given the option to participate in the Michigan Senior Olympics, and the top three finishers in each age group will receive a special MSO medal!

Frosty Ski Fest Kids’ Race

The Frosty Ski Fest Kids’ Race is a fun, non-competitive out-and-back ski course for kids ages 5-11. All kids who participate in this event will receive a finisher’s medal.

Participants of the Brighton Area Recreation Connection cross country ski program taught by Team NordicSkiRacer are already registered for this race.

If kids can comfortably ski a 5K distance, they should register for the Frosty Freestyle 5K which has a junior division.
