The Original A2 Turkey Trot presented by Kroger
We have returned to racing!
The mission of Epic Races is to professionally manage safe, fun, and rewarding multi-sport and endurance events that appeal to beginner through elite athletes, raise money and awareness for important causes, and make each participant feel like a champion.
To keep you all safe, we follow the most up-to-date health and safety guidelines for the state of Michigan. You can find them here.
Think “November” and visions of roast turkey undoubtedly come to mind. Epic Races invites you to envision — and experience — a totally different take on that famous fall bird with the A2 Turkey Trot. Join us on Saturday, November 19 at Hudson Mills Metropark for this annual autumn tradition and enjoy a late-season run that is fun for the whole family!
Let’s Talk Turkey!
The A2 Turkey Trot features three different distances to whet your racing appetite: a 5K loop around scenic Hudson Mills, a 10K course comprised of two 5K loops, and a mile fun run for those who want just a taste of our Turkey Trot.
For those who prefer a more sizable portion, there’s our Iron Turkey option: run both the 5K and 10K, a total of 9.3 miles! If your feet love gobbling up the miles, then our Iron Turkey challenge is ideal for you! Don’t forget: the A2 Turkey Trot is walker-friendly!
Deferrals and Transfers
We offer a liberal transfer and deferral policy. You may defer your race entry to the following year up until 3 weeks before race day. You may transfer your race to another person up until race morning. See instructions on how to do this and more about our policies in our FAQs.
Food Gatherers, the featured charity for the A2 Turkey Trot, exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community. Food Gatherers regards the gifts of food and money that they receive as a sacred trust to be administered for the most effective hunger relief possible.
Financial donations provide Food Gatherers the most flexibility to respond to the food assistance needs in Washtenaw County. To make a donation now visit www.foodgatherers.org/donate or call 734-761-2796. Food Gatherers is also accepting food donations at their warehouse at 1 Carrot Way, Ann Arbor 48105. Donation hours are Mon-Fri, 9:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Looking to PR or finish by a certain time? The Ann Arbor Track Club will have its pace team ready to help you meet your goals! Look for them in the starting area; they’ll be holding signs showing which pace they’ll be running. There will be pacers available at the following paces for the 5K& 10K: 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, and 12:00. Note: it’s perfectly fine to change from one pace to another while out on the course. After all, it’s your race!
The event is a Leave No Trace event. Learn more about our race-day recycling and composting efforts here. Want more information about running a great race and leaving no trace? Click here to visit Happy Planet Running!
