Waterloo G & G presented by Short's Brewing Company

With 3 races scheduled between March 14 and March 22, I'm sure you can imagine our office is busy and our inbox is full.
If you looking for the status of upcoming races, read on. We are currently overwhelmed with phone calls and email, so please only call for urgent matters.

As you know, we have been monitoring the status of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the U.S. and abroad, and making plans and decisions as new information is released. We have been in constant contact with local health department officials regarding best practices for mass participation events in Michigan. We have been committed  to make our decisions based on science provided by advisors, not hysteria.

We have spoken to many of you on the phone and have replied to many emails letting you know that we are doing what we can to make our events happen.  We have evaluated our plans that are a year in the making and made revisions based on current recommendations.  We have been looking at the possibility of starting the race in small groups, perhaps one at a time, anything that we can do to make it happen.

At this time, we are finding that the decision may be out of our hands. Over the past 24 hours, many things have transpired that have confirmed that we need to cancel all 3 of our upcoming races: Run 3.14 Pi, Waterloo G&G, and Probility Ann Arbor Marathon.

Emails are going out to all participants in each of these races with more specifics.  Please understand that we love what we do and what we do is put on events. With all we have been doing to make this event the best of the best, the last thing we want to do is cancel.

May we offer comfort to those whose loved ones have died. Bring peace to those living with uncertainty. Give patience to those who are quarantined and unable to move freely in their communities.

As always...

Be fit, be well, and keep smiling,

A portion of this event’s proceeds benefits our featured charity, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Kick off the cycling season by gutting it out on the gravel with Epic Races and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for a truly amazing experience: Waterloo G & G! This amazing adventure, will take you through the wilds of Lower Michigan’s largest park, where pristine forests, rolling glacial terrain, and sparkling lakes provide a breathtaking backdrop for the cycling experience of a lifetime.

Given Waterloo Recreational Area’s glacial history, the bike courses will vary from rolling hill climbs and swift descents to winding curves and rare straightaways. Some of the roads will be paved. Some of the roads may be patched. Most of the roads will be dirt and rock. There may even be mud, ice, and snow. Expect to get dusty. Expect to get grimy. Expect to have the time of your life! Waterloo G & G is part of the Pure Michigan FITness Series of events and is endorsed by the Michigan Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health, and Sports.

100K: 2 loops that wind through Waterloo’s more than 20,000 acres. Note: All participants in the 100K must begin their second loop by 1:00 p.m. (3 hours from start time).  At this time, the sag vehicle will begin cleaning the course and anybody behind the sag vehicle is advised to head to the finish line and call it a 50K!

50K: Condenses the best that the 100K offers into half the distance (one loop)

10-mile non-competitive, untimed: a little bit of everything!

All courses run counterclockwise, turning left onto Seymour Road from Portage Lake, then right on List.

Post race party presented by Short’s Brewing Company!
