As Run Course Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, accuracy, and overall quality of the run course.

Position Overview: As the Run Course Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of all aspects related to the run course. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, accuracy, and overall quality of the race, creating memorable experiences for our participants.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Course Planning and Design:
     • Collaborate with race management team to design and plan race courses that meet the specific requirements of each event.
     • Conduct thorough site evaluations to assess terrain, logistics, and safety considerations.
     • Utilize mapping software and GPS technology to accurately measure and map out race courses.
     • Ensure courses are appropriately marked with signage, mile markers, and directional indicators.
2. Safety and Risk Management:
     • Develop and implement safety protocols to mitigate risks and ensure participant safety throughout the race course.
     • Coordinate with local authorities, emergency services, and medical personnel to establish contingency plans and response procedures.
     • Conduct pre-race inspections to identify and address any potential hazards or safety concerns.
     • Provide comprehensive safety briefings and training for race volunteers and staff.
3. Logistics and Operations:
     • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment, supplies, and materials for course setup.
     • Manage logistics related to course setup, including barricades, cones, water stations, and aid stations.
     • Supervise course setup and teardown crews to ensure timely and efficient execution.
     • Monitor and maintain inventory of course-related equipment and supplies.
4. Communication and Coordination:
     • Serve as the primary point of contact for all course-related inquiries and communications.
     • Collaborate with race management team, volunteers, and external stakeholders to coordinate course logistics and operations.
     • Provide clear and concise instructions to volunteers and staff assigned to course-related roles.
     • Communicate any changes or updates to race courses to participants and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
5. Participant Experience:
     • Strive to enhance the overall participant experience by creating engaging and welldesigned race courses.
     • Solicit feedback from participants and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements accordingly.
     • Ensure that race courses are accurately measured and certified to meet industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in sports management, event planning, recreation management, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in race management, event planning, or outdoor recreation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of individuals.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management practices related to outdoor events.
• Proficiency in mapping and GPS technology.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by event schedules.
• Passion for endurance sports and a commitment to promoting health, wellness, and community engagement through endurance events.
